Obama admin lowballs cost of dealing with Iran

The Obama administration has paid Iran more than $10 billion in gold, cash, and other assets since 2013, according to Iranian officials, who disclosed that the White House has been intentionally deflating the total amount paid to the Islamic Republic.

Senior Iranian officials late last week confirmed reports that the total amount of money paid to Iran over the past four years is in excess of $10 billion, a figure that runs counter to official estimates provided by the White House.

WNU Editor: This is an interesting point from the above WSJ post ....

.... U.S. officials estimate that roughly half of the $100 billion Iran is entitled to receive under the final deal already is committed to debts Iran has had to pay to other countries, including China.

But aside from what Iran owes to other countries (and to work it so that they will be able to pay them) .... this deal was also done to get Iran to the table to make a deal on its nuclear program. But one has to wonder where this deal will eventually really end up .... especially when I read stories like this one .... Diplomats: Iran to get natural uranium batch (AP).
