The president's entrance, a relatively low-key arrival, occurred precisely as his longtime lawyer, Michael Cohen, appeared in the Capitol corridors to deliver closed testimony in the Senate – a development that was set to shadow Trump's diplomacy with high stakes testimony before three separate panels.
Air Force One landed in Vietnam in darkness after a flight that included two stops for refueling, one in the UK and the second in Qatar. The president waved to a small crowd that gathered for his arrival, before slowly walking down a staircase to greet Vietnamese dignitaries and the U.S. ambassador to Hanoi.
