Two Dozen Sailors Aboard Aircraft Carrier Theodore Roosevelt Test Positive For Coronavirus

Daily Mail: Nearly two dozen sailors aboard aircraft carrier Theodore Roosevelt test positive for coronavirus forcing the warship to dock in Guam to test all 5,000 on board

* 23 sailors aboard the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt have tested positive for the novel coronavirus as of Thursday
* On Tuesday three cases were reported, cases jumped to eight on Wednesday
* The warship carrying about 5,000 will port in Guam and will test all on board
* The ship currently has around 800 COVID-19 tests and more are being flown in
* This is the first time coronavirus has appeared on a deployed warship
* Ship ported in Vietnam two weeks ago and could have contracted disease there
* Overall 280 U.S. service members have tested positive for the virus

At least 23 sailors aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt have tested positive for the novel coronavirus, forcing the warship to port in Guam to test all 5,000 on board.

On Tuesday three sailors tested positive for COVID-19. By Wednesday that number jumped to eight and half of those infected were airlifted to a military medical facility in Guam, Navy officials said.

By Thursday the number of infected mounted to about two dozen, prompting Navy officials to dock the ship to test all sailors.
