A top Pentagon official has said that a diversity officer who tweeted disparaging remarks about white people will not face workplace discipline following a lengthy internal investigation.
Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness Gil Cisneros faced tough grilling on the controversy from Republicans on the House Armed Services Committee at a hearing on Thursday.
Cisneros confirmed that DoDo employee Kelisa Wing will not be fired or otherwise sanctioned for tweets she wrote prior to taking a job as the chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer in the Department of Defense's Education Activity office (DoDEA), which oversees schooling for children of military families.
