WNU Editor: The White House is saying no to US troops being deployed to Gaza as part of a multinational force .... No US peacekeeping troops in Gaza, White House says (Reuters).
But US Sens. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) and Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) are two politicians who are in the know on what the US is planing to do when it comes to this war. I believe them when they say that talks are currently underway to establish a multinational force in Gaza that will include US troops after Israel uproots Hamas.
As to what is my take on US troops being deployed to Gaza when this war is over.
I think it will be a huge mistake. The optics of US troops standing over the charred remains of Gaza and its traumatized population is not going to resonate well in much of the world.
