President Barack Obama is going to Hiroshima this week, but his Japanese counterpart has no plans to visit Pearl Harbor as a reciprocal gesture.
Although Obama will visit the Hiroshima on Friday becoming the first sitting commander in chief to do so more than seven decades after a nuclear bomb destroyed the city in an attempt to end World War II, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said Wednesday during a joint press conference in Shima, Japan, that a trip to the Hawaiian harbor is not currently planned.
