As artificial intelligence advances, the possibility that machines could independently select and fire on targets is fast approaching.
Fully autonomous weapons, also known as 'killer robots,' are quickly moving from the realm of science fiction toward reality.

WNU Editor: And I though some man-made global warming supporters were extreme. We are still far away from having the weapons platforms that these proponents are afraid of .... but having said that, banning these weapons is too late. The genie is out of the bottle, and every major military in the world is investing heavily to develop and deploy such systems and they are not going to turn back the clock.
