DW: Kenya votes in divisive election
The last ballots have been cast in the close race between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his longtime rival Raila Odinga. Opinion polls ahead of election day showed no clear favorite to lead Kenya.
Polls have closed following Tuesday's general election in Kenya. Final results are expected on Wednesday at the earliest, but election officials have up to a week to declare the outcome.
The divisive election pitted President Uhuru Kenyatta against veteran opposition leader and longtime rival Raila Odinga. The candidates need a simple majority to win a five-year term.
