WNU Editor: The Chinese government has stated that they have been informing the White House on what was happening in their talks with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un .... no surprises there .... I am sure the South Koreans and the Americans have also been informing Beijing on their interactions with the North Koreans thereby making sure that everyone is on the same page. As to President Trump's tweet .... Chinese President Xi must have given President Trump a reason to be optimistic. My guess is that the Chinese .... by receiving a promise of denuclearizing from the North Korean leader .... have provided the needed groundwork and baseline for discussions to now move forward. As to what the Chinese must have given to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to get this denuclearizing promise is open to debate, but I am willing to bet that they gave the North Korean leader national security guarantees and other economic and political guarantees. The next step in these talks is when South Korean President Moon meets North Korean leader Kim Jong Un at the DMZ next month.
