Arm announces Mali-V76 GPU supporting 8K video encoding up to 30fps and decoding up to 60fps. Now, we need low power 8K/30fps image sensors to enable 8K video shooting in smartphones:
"
As the world moves towards UHD 8K content, we’re ensuring our IP will support encoding and decoding for content on smartphones and other devices.
...for the first time Mali-V76 is able to handle 8K encode, though only at 30fps at this stage as anything greater really is a little ahead of its time... for now."
