Digitimes Research says that Sony took a 45% share of the global CIS market in 2016, while Samsung grabbed a 15% share of the market. The global CIS shipment value will grow to $11.2b in 2017 from $10.4b in 2016. The market is forecast to grow to nearly $13.8b in 2020.
