* The army is working on fighter planes, the first Chinese-built aircraft carrier and nuclear-powered submarines
China's military is preparing to hold a parade next week which will offer a rare look at its rapidly developing arsenal.
More than 15,000 troops and almost 600 pieces of military equipment are expected to feature in the parade, as well as 160 aircraft.
This could even include a missile that can carry a nuclear payload and can reach the United States in 30 minutes.
