Russian federal prison guards took part in a major training exercise in the Republic of Mordovia to prove they were qualified to wear a maroon beret awarded to elite candidates

Each year, groups of hopefuls participate in a grueling training camp - this year held in Mordovia, where they are tested to the limit before being awarded a maroon beret.

WNU Editor:  These guys are huge. I had a friend who was incarcerated in a Russian prison years ago. When I went to see him in court I will never forget how big and intimidating these guards are.
