The current trend lines nationwide show a continued increase in the number of COVID-19 cases as the pandemic shows no signs of abating 


 * Dr. Jonathan Reiner of George Washington University School of Medicine warns of 'vaccine hesitance' 
 * So far, 1.9 million Americans have been inoculated after receiving one of the two available COVID-19 vaccines 
 * Trump administration initially promised to have 20 million Americans vaccinated by the end of December 
 * Reiner blasted Trump for not getting vaccinated on camera and for not mandating face masks nationwide 
 * Trump on Saturday criticized Democrat-led states for imposing lockdown measures during the pandemic 
 * President incorrectly said Florida was 'open and doing well' even though COVID-19 cases there are surging 
 * California has been forced to impose harsh lockdown due to lack of available ICU beds in state hospitals 

One out of every 1,000 Americans has died of COVID-19 as the coronavirus continues to run rampant throughout the country while one top medical expert fears that the public is hesitant to take the newly approved vaccinations. 

The latest data from Johns Hopkins University indicated on Saturday that the COVID-19 death toll in the United States reached 331,116 people. 

The grim milestone coincides with figures from the Census Bureau which found that as of the last week of December, the total population of the US stood at around 330,750,000.
